NewDFB-Laser Diode (Short ver.)
Short Version video of DFB laser for gas sensing applications.
Short Version video of terahertz products for 6G (next-generation) wireless communication and NDI (non-destructive inspection).
InP-based semiconductor laser diode which satisfies telecom grade reliability. A single-mode operation without mode-hopping is realized during wavelength tuning by current. A peltier device is integrated. A linewidth of ~2MHz and an SMSR of >35dB is guaranteed.
THz waves (0.1 to 100 THz) have the characteristics of the intermediate region between light and radio waves, and development for industrial applications such as 6G (next-generation) wireless communication and NDI (non-destructive inspection) is accelerating.
NTT Elecronics has commercialized a UTC photomixer (THz emitter) and an FMB diode (THz receiver) based on the compound semiconductor device technology. NTT Elecronics is promoting higher performance of photomixers and FMB diodes, and is also actively working on system integration in collaboration with customers.
PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) technology is used for AWG (Arrayed Waveguide Grating) and Splitter as one of the key technologies that support optical communication.
Optical communication mainly uses wavelengths in the 1.3 to 1.55 µm band, but PLCs for visible light uses in the wavelength band of around 0.5 µm and provide compact, high-performance optical devices for consumer use realizing IoT society.
