THz Spectrometer
DESCRIPTION
Terahertz spectroscopy uses THz waves, which have a longer wavelength and lower photon energy than visible/infrared spectroscopy, and thus provides information on intermolecular vibrations, crystal lattice vibrations, molecular rotations, and the relaxation of these vibrations and rotations through hydrogen bonding and van der Waals forces. Thus THz spectroscopy, which reflects the vibrations of the whole molecule, is a spectroscopic method that can identify compounds and crystal polymorphs.
